Welcome to my website!

Thanks to the recent PBS special with the same name as my column, I've been able to reach more parents with my basic message about Growing Up Online. Although the Internet has introduced new challenges for parents, it is possible to raise children who are as safe, responsible and ethical online as they are in the real world. For succinct, actionable advice about how to do just that, see some of the columns listed to the right.

For over a decade, I have been writing articles about families, ethics and the Internet. Most recently, I got my M.A. in Practical Ethics, with an emphasis on Online Ethics. Before that, I was a Contributing Editor at both Family PC and Home PC. My work has been published in dozens of magazines including Reader's Digest, Newsweek, Redbook and the New York Times.
